Linux Test Bench

Notes for creating a test bench for Linux tinkering

Basically, I want a computer to play around with Linux which can suffer any amount of data loss and instability.

Preliminary notes:

• Intel processor (for Intel graphics)
• ATX motherboard, preferrably no onboard wireless
• Modern Radeon, Nvidia card
  • Intel Arc?
• Many drives, for ZFS and RAID testing
  • A couple “do not touch” drives with stable installs
• All housed on the beautiful OpenBenchTable (budget permitting)
• Open to multiple motherboard/processor/RAM/etc as required
  • Cheap, used hardware
  • Noctua cooler w/ multiple mouting kits - easy to switch cooler
